Board Members

Our Board includes school governors, teachers, adventure bike enthusiasts and security professionals all with a common interest in providing adventure sports to benefit others.

Alison B Lowndes
Alison is Founder Trustee of the associated charity, AVIF; organising volunteering in Kenya since 2006 and more recently in the Brazilian Amazon. Her passions include her kids, her motorbike and Kenya so KO2 aims to fuse these for the benefit of others.

Mr Stephen McCann
Director of KO2 Adventures CIC
Director, Armadillo At Large Ltd, working with humanitarian agencies and individuals to help them deliver their programs more safely in potentially hostile or difficult environments. Stephen's role includes business management and development as well as specialist fieldwork in Humanitarian Safety and Security, First Aid, Radio Communications, and Driver Training.

Robin Brown
Robin and his family live in the local community. He brings to KO2 many skillsets including riding and maintaining bikes and teaching. Currently lecturing in Electrical Skills, Robin is a Director as well as a fantastic learning support officer and dirtbike instructor.

Mrs Mary Wright
Pretending to be retired Mary is currently setting up a northern office for Aid to Hospitals Worldwide, who recycle donated medical equipment bound for landfill in the UK, to equip hospitals, clinics and schools in some of the world’s poorest countries. Mary's career since 1970 has been predominantly associated with the NHS and the development of Primary and Community Health Services in England and in Scotland.

Mr Saif Siddiqui
Saif is an independent business consultant /  interim manager who has worked extensively on business transformations, mergers & aquisitions, change and integration programmes spanning the telecoms, finance and public sectors. He hopes to be able to utilise his commercial experience and knack for asking all the 'dumb' questions in order to add value to the KO2 venture.
 
Mr Grant Johnson

Grant is a "consultant biker", a Canadian National Champion in road racing, motocross and endurance racing. He's a self-confessed adrenaline junkie & world-traveller by bike, now running a large global network of adventure bikers, Horizons Unlimited, with wife, Susan.

Ms Claire Summerfield
Claire has worked for Derby Council for the past 24 years and has substantial experience to offer of large projects, procurement, budgets, efficiencies and marketing. PRINCE2 qualified but also a Brownie leader! she teaches 7–10 yr olds once a week. Claire also manages to fit in voluntarily developing the marketing and sponsorship profile of a British motorcycle team rider.

Ms Terri Mellor
Terri works voluntarily at a local school for children with behavioural and emotional problems as well as being a mother of 3. Terri is a big motorcycle fan and also works and marshals with race clubs at club, national and international level.

Mr Shaun Kilgallen
Sector Marshal for short circuit racing (British SuperBikes, World SuperBikes, MotoGP) and long time supporter of AVIF. Shaun is also a part time football referee.

Mr Mike Wake
Mike is an avid biker in many genres, having travelled much of the UK and Europe on roadbikes, competed in several enduros and more recently developed an interest in adventure biking, with Enduro Africa, Enduro Himalaya and Enduro Cambodia under his belt to date. Mike competes in the Bemsee Yamaha Past Masters series. Mike's day job is consultant engineer in aircraft safety and design assurance for aerospace and defence companies.
